Thirteen year old Ephen Purdue son of Lannus Purdue of near Dover was taken to Williams hospital for an X ray after his right arm broke while trying to crank a Ford truck at the Indiana Condensed Milk Co plant. The X ray showed both bones broken just above the wrist.

Captain Frank M Hawks completed a transcontinental round trip in a Lockheed Air Express. Automobile Hits Tree In Brownsburg Injury Report
Edward Ellis of Pittsboro and Miss Hulse of Brownsburg were slightly injured when Ellis lost control on Main Street, skidded 150 feet into a tree, then swung into a second tree 25 feet away. No Troops Will Be Sent To Dana Indiana Riot
Michigan City Indiana June 29 Governor Harry G Leslie said no troops will be sent to Dana unless requested by Vermillion county authorities amid rioting at the Bono coal mine. Sheriff Harry Newland said he had the situation in hand and did not need militia. Newport Indiana June 29 Newland, 50, said he dispersed nearly 2000 rioting union miners from Indiana and Illinois who invaded the Bono mine three and a half miles west of Dana and slugged non union workers. Alleged affidavits and a grand jury probe were planned as the riot was described as organized with over 200 autos arriving from various points.
