July Fourth Celebration Plans For Lhgsnon Area
Plans for the town’s big community July Fourth celebration were outlined by the civic celebration committee at the Boys Club. The Murat Shine Mounted Patrol will lead the parade and perform a forty minute drill at the Memorial Park diamond. Floats assemble on Washington Street at 2:30 pm with the parade to start at 1:00 pm moving to the park. Events include a review at the Armory, judging at the stand, rides in the park, and contests with prizes funded by local merchants. The Indianapolis Newsbors Band will march and perform in the park after the parade. Lebanon which and Sheridan High bands will also participate. A baseball game is planned at the Park in the afternoon, followed by a Junior Legion meet. The celebration concludes with a fireworks display. The chamber secretary noted 287 of 2,500 dollars had been pledged. an additional 513 was needed to ensure a successful event, with funds from Boone County and various local organizations listed as contributors.

INDIANAPOLIS A Clubwomen traffic safety phone campaign begins on June 29 and 30 as the state Office of Traffic Safety aims to cut dawn deaths during the July 4 weekend. Dulles Blames Soviet Pilots for Alaska Air Attack

Funeral services for Flora Rob inson Howell 44 sister of Justice of the Peace T A Robinson will be held at 10 am Thursday in the Gray funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Born in Union City Missouri August 20 1870 she was daughter of Lawson Franklin and Clarissa Isabelle Spence Robinson. She was married September 5 1884 to Rev John D Howell who died in 1935. Mrs Howell was a former resident of Indianapolis and died in a Washington DC hospital. She had lived with a daughter Mrs Gladys Weidman in Washington for six years. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are a son John D Howell Tucson Arizona two daughters Grace Palmer Downers Grove Illinois and Mrs Weidman two brothers T A Robinson Lebanon and A F Robinson Mound City Missouri and a sister Mrs Ebien Duncan Anna Illinois. A son and a sister are deceased.

Search Plane In Radio Contact With Airman
A U.S. search plane reported radio contact with one of two Marines missing for three nights in the Pacific near Tokyo. The Albatross and B50 circled a tiny life raft as two other planes searched a fogbound area hundreds of miles wide. One missing airman is Capt. H. Montague Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi, grandson of a Berry, and the other is Lt. David Winton Bell of Minneapolis, son of General Mills’ Charles Bell.
