Manhunt for William Ferris in Dickinson Murder Case
Detroit police launched a wide search for 33 year old William Lee Ferris in connection with the murder of Howard Carter Dickinson a wealthy New York lawyer and nephew of Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes. Dickinson was shot and dumped on a road near Rouge Park after an encounter with Ferris the night before. Ferris reportedly had an appointment with Dickinson and checked out of his hotel soon after the killing.
