The Lindberghs expect the baby’s name to be fixed some time next week as Ambassador Morrow departs for Mexico. The couple may spend part of the summer in Maine with the Morrow yacht The Moquette moved to Portland. Guests at a dinner last night included Dan Fellows Platt and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Lamont.
Placerville, June 28. An unknown author signing as Dave claims a true tale of finding a $42,000 gold pocket at Coloma near Placerville in 1865. The manuscript and a March 31, 1865 letter were given to the California State Library by Albert Dressler of Berkeley, a western relics collector. The story recounts two miners discouraged, a friend’s advice on prospecting, and their uncovering of gold at the San Francisco mint.
Washington reports the Justice Department plans extensive use of padlock injunctions to close speak easys and moonshine establishments as it takes over enforcement of the prohibition law. A Terre Haute report describes three bodies found in an apartment above a grocery, including Wesley N. Oakley and Clara Raney with her son Carl. Raney held a .32 caliber revolver. police suspect Raney killed Oakley before taking her own life and harming her child after threats of dismissal.

Unaware father E. R. Wilson learns his son Verlin Johnny Wilson 21 was killed when a trainee pilot plane crashed near Nogales Arizona. Wilson had left Florida en route to Lebanon and camped along the journey. The fatal crash injured passenger Paul Eberlein who died at the scene. The body of Verlin Wilson arrives with brother Thomas Wilson from Los Angeles for funeral rites at Salem church and burial in Pleasant Hill after the father is notified.
Alonzo Anderson aged 65 died at 424 North Park Street at 11 20 this morning after illness since March 4. Born in Bath county Kentucky, he married Julia Jones October 31 1887. Surviving are wife four children and five grandchildren. Funeral likely Monday at 2 30 at Central Christian Church.
The Lebanon Rotary Club elected Russell George as president and Harry Jones as secretary-treasurer for the next year at a Friday luncheon at Alen Country Club. Retiring officers Louis Akerman and Louis Sterling were honored with a desk set and lounging robe respectively, and the meeting approved a Thursday session next week to cover the Rotary International Convention report.

Sky Harbor Chicago June 28 John and Kenneth Hunter pilots of the City of Chicago push toward a new endurance record after seventeen days in flight. If they succeed by 3 40 p m they will set a mark exceeding the old record by one hour at 6 01 a m Sunday. The hunters hope for about 420 hours 21 minutes and face fatigue and hazards while spectators fill the field. The effort could bring about $200 000 in prize and a nationwide aerial demonstration if they pass the record. Will Rogers and others are noted in a last night message as the flight nears its end.
