Delays Decision In Lowther Case
Indianapolis June 28 The case of Richard Lowther Jr charged with manslaughter in the death of Julius Underwood of Jamestown was taken under advisement by Special Judge Fred Johnson in Criminal court after evidence and arguments were completed. Underwood died when his car was struck by a vehicle driven by Lowther who admitted driving at 50 miles an hour. The victims mother testified he was delirious on the day. John Underwood said his mother never recovered understanding and died without knowing her husband was killed. Underwood claimed he did not receive a sympathy letter from the Lowther family.

Traction worker fatally injured after fall from car top
Russell F. Dickerson 33 night inspector for T H I E barns fell from a car into a track pit at about 3 30 am and died four hours later at Witham hospital. He landed on his head, fracturing his skull. Unconscious in the pit, he was found by coworker Ira. Cause of the fall undetermined though live wire contact was ruled unlikely.
