The trial of Joseph Krupp’s killer moves into testimony as family members of the dead patrolman and relatives of Spohn react. Witnesses describe autopsy details, the shooting scene, and the pursuit and capture of Spohn and Brown near Indianapolis.
Brooks is accused of throwing a brick and timber at Neal near a Hie shop incident injuring his forearm. Neal sought medical care and Brooks posted cash bond for a city court appearance. Also noted are obituaries for Mee Pigman at 78, with survivors, a church funeral plan, and local civic notices including a Merry-go-Round permit denial and street crossing reviews.

Express Horse a well known local figure died last night after a brief illness following years of drawing the wagon for Norman in Lebanon. The fifteen year old animal, familiar to many residents, collapsed after an attack while being attended in the stable. Two men tried to aid the horse but could not save him. The horse had recently completed his rounds and seemed in good health before the sudden collapse.
Yesterday morning at her home in Advance Mrs Armilda America Farlow was found dead in her bed from heart disease about 1 oclock A M The deceased is described as an aged woman residing in Advance with no known immediate survivors mentioned The report notes death from heart disease in a quiet domestic setting.
The city engineer Rebecca Fulwider submitted cost estimates for an alley west from West Street behind the Davis Bros livery barn. Council accepted the report, ordered the improvement, and set July 25 as bid date. The meeting also discussed sidewalk assessment on Park Street and various department expenses totaling several hundred dollars.

William R Krause obtained an absolute divorce from Rae Krause after a formal hearing. Judge EB Sturgis granted the decree while the defense offered no contest. Krause testified about residence timelines and marriage details with Nathan Krause and Mr Caldwell corroborating residence.
Government offices close fiscal year June 30 as Pension Bureau reports nearly 12 million dollars paid in pensions. Indiana lists 7,728 pensioners including 35,889 civil war veterans 1,956 Spanish war veterans 94 Mexican war veterans and 19,087 widows and orphans receiving pensions in the state.
Miss Retha Van Gorder returned home Saturday evening to a surprise party planned by friends for her sixteenth birthday. She received a gold locket and chain, and guests enjoyed ice cream and cake before leaving at a late hour wishing her many more happy birthdays.
