Suit Filed To Force Teacher Fund Payment INDIANAPOLIS
The Indiana State Teachers Association sued in Marion Superior Court to compel three state officials to transfer 27,637,259 from the general fund to the State Teacher's Retirement Fund. Defendants include State Auditor Trudy Ethertin State Treasurer John Snyder and Indiana Budget Agency director Thomas Taylor. The group says prior legislatures underfunded pension costs and notes a 1967 appropriation of 71 million for the biennium.
