Chicago June 27 Danny Hartnett West Side gangster and Miss Viola Browning were shot and probably fatally wounded in a soft drink parlor. Police link the incident to yesterday’s killing of gangster James McFarland. Hartnett’s wife and three men including the bar owner were arrested in the latest feud related attack.

Storm kills man as Kansas City hit by hail and rain
Kansas City, Mo, June 27. One person was killed and seven injured, two seriously, in a heavy rain hail and electric storm. Sam Schneider died when a basement wall collapsed on him. Three people were hurt in a car crash, two stunned by lightning, and two swept into a sewer manhole by flood water.
