She lived on a Washington township farm before moving to Lebanon eight years ago. She belonged to the Methodist church. Survived by husband two sons William R. Moore and Robert O. Moore and three brothers James A. Sims Joseph Sims and Robert Sims. Funeral Saturday at 2:30 PM at William R. Moore’s home with burial in Hill cemetery.

Durkin is on trial for slaying Edward C Shanahan a federal agent who tried to arrest him for stealing an automobile. Selection of a jury consumed more than three weeks during which time 490 prospects were examined. Durkin daily grew more restless. He admitted his nerves were all gone. The jury box was finally filled and Durkin smiled broadly. He expressed a desire to take the witness stand and tell his version of the shooting. He claims he shot Shanahan the belief Shanahan was a bandit about to hold him up.
