Lightning Ignites City Power Plant Disrupts Services
A severe lightning flash burned two switchboard sections at the electric light plant, leaving the city in total darkness for three hours. Repairs began around 11 pm with one switchboard section restored, new sections ordered from Ft Wayne, and Sunday repairs anticipated. Interurban service suffered damage between Grimes stop and Englewood, with the Crawfor de ville division out until noon. Wire trouble near Mechanicsburg and the power house disrupted line traffic for two hours. Flood and Lightning Strike Leaves Lebanon in Darkness
A severe electrical storm passed over Lebanon last night causing a three hour blackout as a light plant switchboard burned. Mrs. Robert Martin on Jameson street was shocked but recovered. Rural areas report damaged barns and the loss of several cattle and horses. Insurance covered damages to the Adams residence near Brunswick and to the Farmers Cooperative Co listing.

Manford Sheets of Alhembra Avenue Frankfort attempted suicide by taking morphine tablets after marital troubles. He lay on the north side of the fair ground when a doctor arrived in time to save his life.
