Park Stand To Open As City OK's Contract
Mayor Campbell announced at the City Council meeting that Ray Gene Swope will operate the Memorial Park concession stand this summer after a late start. Hot Skins Traced To Cool Cars In Boone
Three Lebanon youths, aged 16, were linked to a burglary at Jones and Fairfield Service station. Seven tires worth about 300 dollars were taken after a window was broken. One car was seen near the station the night of the break in. Tire loot was found in the youths’ homes and rooms. The case was referred to the County Juvenile Court after parental notice.

The Thorntown Public Library launches its annual Summer Reading Program for children from first through sixth grade. Washington students attending Thorntown schools without a library card can obtain a special summer card. The theme is Wild Horse Round Up and each child must read ten books.
