Battery C from Lebanon and the 139th Field Artillery will join about 9,000 Indiana National Guard members at Camp Grayling Michigan for summer training July 10 to 24. Gen Carl O DeBard announced the 1955 encampment details including a five mile tactical foot march for most divisions, a 48 hour division command post exercise, base training for recruits, and intelligence training with heavy weapons excluded from artillery units. Governor Schwartz and state officials will visit during training as troops move by convoy and commercial transport to Camp Grayling observing all laws.

A 1955 Oldsmobile with Wisconsin plates was found abandoned in a woods on the Richard Maxwell farm in Eagle township northeast of Zionsville yesterday by two boys. Sheriff Wilbur Slagle impounded the car at a local garage while ownership could not be determined. The vehicle had not been wrecked.

Handcuffed Soldiers Jump From Train One Dead
Two young soldiers handcuffed together leaped from a speeding passenger train near Hopkinsville Kentucky. Pvt Gary V Winn 18 of Cleveland Ohio died instantly and Pvt Ronald J Sickles 19 of Cohoes New York was seriously injured. They were being returned to Ft Campbell from Ft Leonard Wood Missouri on charges of absence without leave. The train was reported to be traveling about 76 miles per hour when they jumped.

Two Hospitalized As Truck Rams Into Car
An Agriculture Department truck and a passenger car collided at the intersection of State Road 934 and U S Highway 52. Two people, Mrs. Jennie Eaton and Glenn Hendrick, were hospitalized with injuries including a broken arm and severe chest injuries. The Eaton car was hit while turning, and the truck overturned after continuing about 200 feet on U S 52. Six others, including William Collins, William Chaffin, and Hitt, were in the truck. Chaffin and Hitt were not injured. Mr. Eaton sustained an arm injury and Mrs. Eaton suffered shock.
