Four alleged members of a farm theft ring were tried yesterday in county court before Judge Paul B. Lacien. Mya, Heney Hathaway, Joseph Rikiewy, and Domes Dare were found guilty on varying counts and sentenced to prison terms. U S Attorney He McPike said Lucas will be disciplined at the island facility following a conference with Warden James A Johnston.
Two French navy hydroplanes collided mid air above Cherbourg harbor and all five aboard were killed. Rescuers recovered the bodies as the wreckage plunged into the water after the spectacular crash.

Inspector Hazel R King of Nassau County announced the loss was discovered by Cue a wealthy race horse owner upon awakening. The jewels were hidden in two silk bags in a dresser drawer near Mrs Cue's washroom, and police believe the thief entered by combing a concrete porch column after gaining access through a screened area.

A young WPA worker Charles Denton, 20, who was to be dismissed, fled after attacking two men in Indianapolis on June 21. He struck and injured city engineer inspector Stewart Sr and later attacked William G. Lackey, supervisor of the WPA project, with police still seeking Denton.
In Camden police report fourteen arrests during a strike at the RCA Victor plant called by the United Electrical and Radio Workers of America. About 1,000 workers were involved among roughly 12,000 employees in the plant.
Elkhart Ind June 24 First Christian Church of Wakarusa twelve miles south of here sustained about 30000 in fire damage. Officials carried 6000 insurance. Temporary meetings will be held at the consolidated school.
