A Thorntown couple, D. H. Rammel and Ja P. Rammel, married after living as husband and wife for about 27 years. Mrs. Rammel had been married to Mr. Black, later living with Rammel since 1852 when they formed a common law marriage in Cincinnati. The couple, ages about 73 and 75, were wed at their home with Squire J. C. Jaques officiating, creating a tale that surprised local residents who suspected nothing of their long relationship.

Six Year Old Boy Severely Injured by Scythe Accident
Raymond Lucas, six, son of Lafayette Lucas, was seriously hurt one and a half miles northwest of Advance when a mowing scythe struck his left thigh. He fell onto the blade, causing a deep wound that reached the bone. He was anesthetized as Drs. Hamilton and Black dressed and sewed the wound. recovery is expected.

Mine Cage Incident Near Clinton Injures Twelve
A mine cage in Klondike mine No 4 at Clinton Ind dropped this morning while lowering twelve workers. The engineer lost control of the cage and fell sixty feet, injuring several men as the operation continued.

Fire Destroys Farm Barn North of Sheridan
A barn on the Fisher farm located north of Sheridan was destroyed by fire on Monday. Cause unknown. Mr. Fisher and family learned of the blaze from a neighbor too late to save much. Contents lost included a wagon, corn sheller, 160 bushels of corn, four fans of hay, harness, and other items. The barn and contents were partially insured.
