Viet Paratroopers Repel NVA Attack Near Hue
South Vietnamese paratroopers backed by heavy U.S. B52 strikes fought off a Communist assault along the northern defense line near Hue. Eighteen NVA tanks were destroyed in the fighting as government forces engaged the enemy, according to Saigon dispatches.

Boone County Government Costs Run Below State Averages
A report by Indiana Farm Bureau shows Boone County per capita government cost at 24.04 dollars, below the state average of 25.42. Warren leads with 45.24. Boone outpaced in only one department, with the Surveyor per capita at 1.22 versus state averages around 58, while the County Highway Dept. ran under all per capita averages with lower personnel and higher material costs noted.

The Harry McCray Memorial Bicycle Race set for Tuesday July 4 moves start to 10 a.m. and changes route for safety to finish before the 2 p.m. parade. Entry deadline is July 1 with forms on page 12.
