Vernon Boxwell 57 of Frankfort was killed when he apparently fell from a railroad bridge Sunday evening. Authorities said the death appears accidental. The report notes the event occurred in Frankfort, Indiana, with investigators continuing to examine the circumstances.
The manager of the Weese Sinclair Service near US 52 North of Lebanon notified the Boone County Sheriff's office that about 4 a.m. Sunday $150 was taken from the cash register. Judy Kay Smith, 1969 Miss Indiana State Fair and former Lebanon resident, will guest of honor at the 1969 Miss Boone County Contest in Lebanon. The event July 21 includes 4-H parade and tea, with preliminary judging July 21 and final at the fairgrounds. Applicants age 16 to 21 must reside in Boone County, be unmarried, and have 1 year in 4-H plus community group membership.

Noblesville resident Robert Dean DeVaney faces reckless homicide and causing death while intoxicated in the January 29 crash on Ind 387A north of Noblesville.
