Paris June 23 Yves Delbos French foreign minister told the Chamber of Deputies that sanctions would be symbolic without real efficacy and the government favors collective security and disarmament under the League of Nations. Leon Blum outlined a peace through collective security program and calls for control of war manufactures by a permanent international body in Geneva. London June 23 Clement Attlee led a Labour bid for a censure against Baldwin over abandoning sanctions on Italy.

Runaway speed boat spooks lake bathers at James Lake
At Lake James near Angola Indiana a speed boat ran at forty miles an hour causing panic among bathers and other craft operators. A youth guiding the boat with his feet was washed overboard by a wave and swam in widening circles.
