Plaster Crash at Sequoia Theater Hurt Forty in Balcony
In Redwood City California forty people were injured when plaster and wire mesh fell from the Sequoia theater ceiling onto about 100 balcony patrons during the late show of The Gunfighter. Mrs. Robert Case was seriously hurt leaping to the main floor. others received minor injuries. Hospitals treated about 30 at San Mateo Community, eight at Palo Alto, and others at Redwood City clinics. Police and theater officials opened an investigation into the ceiling collapse.

Presser Co Buys Buffalo Cow Heifer at Auction
Presser Packing Co purchased a cross between buffalo and Hereford cow heifer for breeding and foresting purposes. The 1205 pound, two years eight months old animal was bought from Marvin Webb of Elwood at the Indianapolis stockyards for 28 cents per pound. The beady faced animal with long hair is described as very tender and excellent in flavor. The heifer originally belonged to Ernie Braddock of Frankfort, who has conducted cross breeding experiments.

Convicted Judge May Not Draw Pay While Serving Time
Indianapolis June 22 IUP Sullivan Circuit Judge Norval Harris may not draw his state salary of 600 per month while serving 60 days on the state penal farm for contempt of court. Indiana Supreme Court and State Auditor James M Frast said Harris would seek the Attorney General’s option before drawing the July 1 check. Harris was sentenced to the farm and fined 300 for contempt of a Supreme Court writ. He was also charged with writing a bad check in his court and public intoxication in Indianapolis Municipal Court.

Ex Reporter and Editor Dies in Indianapolis
Ralph Cunningham aged 57, former employee of The Reporter, died at his home in Indianapolis after a three month illness. A West Union Ohio native, he was advertising manager and foreman of the Reporter's composing room, later worked at Shu mate, and was night foreman at the Indianapolis Star. He lived in Indianapolis since 1931, earlier printed at the Indianapolis Times, and held memberships in local Presbyterian churches and Marion Masonic Lodge.
