Indiana keeps Lafayette on new Jackson highway route
Tippecanoe county successfully campaigned to keep Lafayette on the Indianapolis Chicago automobile route. The state highway commission selected the Montmorenci Welcot link toward a roundabout path, adding a paved westward lane from Montmorenci and connecting east to the Indianapolis road. Route 49 was redirected through Hammond Dyer Lowell and Kentland.

Indianapolis on June 19 reports receipts of hogs, cattle, and sheep with top hog prices around 16.00 to 16.50 for heavies and 14.00 for pigs. Cattle show choice heavies near 14.56 and steers around 14.00, while sheep bids and calves also appear in the mixed market figures. Chicago grain notes corn and oats opening higher with July and September futures and nearby lard and rib prices listed.

Michigan road paving approved by local authorities
