Bank Bandit Nabbed At Police Roadblock
Crandall Indiana police quickly identified the suspect in the $4,200 robbery of the Harrison County Bank of Corydon branch. Denny Green, 40, New Middletown, was stopped at a roadblock on Indiana 211 111. Police recovered all but $20 of the loot. Green faces robbery charges. His brother in law had been convicted in a prior bank robbery. The bandit wore a green mask and used a rifle to threaten staff before fleeing in a black car.

Man Burned at Thorntown As House Is Lost
A Thorntown couple faced loss as a fire gutted their home at 210 West Bow Street. Richard Smith suffered first and second degree burns and is in satisfactory condition after a glue explosion near a stove during cabinet remodeling. His wife escaped with minor burns as neighbors and his brother aided in rescue. The house was a total loss with smoke and water damage. Other weekend incidents include two I-74 injuries from a sleepy driver accident near Jamestown, a Zionsville crash with intoxication charges, two motorcycle injuries near Thorntown, and a 5 PM Thorntown-Frankfort collision on US 52.
