Submarine Grayback Reported Lost in Pacific
In Kingston on June 20 the navy announced the loss of the 1475 ton US Submarine Grayback, presumed in the Pacific while American submarines press a heavy toll on Japanese shipping. Skipper listed as missing with the ship’s crew is Cudi Jenna A. Moore of Memphis, Tennessee. The Grayback, about 290 feet long with a 2T foot beam, was built by Electric Boat Groton and commissioned in June 1941 as the fifth undersea craft of its class to be lost.
