Country Conservatives Club entertained at Crain home

The Country Conservative Club of Hazelrigg was entertained Friday evening at the home of C. F. Crain by families including Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Rotary Club Views Persia Through Ulen Films

At the Ulen Country Club luncheon Rotary members saw two reels detailing Persian life and the Tehran to Baghdad railway project. Ulen & Company helped build portions of the line, German contractors led the project from Tehran, and Ulen contributed about 150 miles before funding stalled. Deputy Killed in Darage Battle in Garage Shooting

Lake Geneva Wisconsin June 20 A deputy sheriff was shot through the heart and killed and his assailant a neighbor was critically wounded today in a gun battle at a private garage during a drinking party. Deputy Al C Exner and Walter Morgan were involved with Morgan shot and mortally wounded while Debler fired at Morgan both men seriously wounded. Exner had previously gained fame for capturing the Betty Ann Foster kidnapper.

United States Investments In China Reach 200 Million

A survey by Prof. Carl F. Remer of the University of Michigan finds US investments totaling 200 million dollars in China, including government loans. Cooling breeze eases Boone county heat wave relief

After the hottest day of the year, Boone county residents felt relief as a cooling wind arrived. Whitestown reported 96 degrees at 2 pm, with a low of 70 last night and 94 mid morning. A relief from yesterday's high, temperatures steadied around 90 at noon today.

Camp Opens At Fort Harrison With Large Indiana Ohio Attendance

The seventh citizens military training camp opened at Fort Harrison with around fifteen hundred recruits. Boone county provides a record group from the area, led by Lieut. Ben Herr who organized enrollments. Col. J. T. Shelton oversees the camp as it runs thirty days with a July 4 visit invitation and a program including lemonade stands and refreshments for Boone county attendees.

Annual Pythian Reunion to Be Held in Lafayette

Lebanon will be well represented at the annual home coming of Knights of Pythias lodges from Indiana to be held Sunday at the Pythian Home on South Eighteenth street in Lafayette. Women Hold 20 Percent of Indiana Jobs
