In Frankfort last night under W C T U auspices Lebanon sent Mable Ransdell Madge Ransdell and Forest Draughard against Frankfort contestants Iris Newhouse and Florence Norris. Judges Rev Russel Supt Moore Mink Mary Hoateins sided with Mable Ransdell who received the gold medal. Attending Lebanon were Mrs Hendricks Braug bard and Ransdell. Robertson and John Hamilton, sixteen, helped at the fire scene. A major blaze destroyed Robertson and Weaver buildings housing Frank Moore’s goods and a saw mill operation from New Ross. Five hundred volunteers fought two hours to save the town using bucket brigades as the fire reached the tower. Loss projected at 2500 with 700 insured. cause undetermined though believed incendiary.
