He purportedly carried her to his car placed her in the rear seat then dumped her alive in a south side alley before returning home.

Steel Leaders Move Toward Mediation Plan Showdown

Washington reports labor management talks in the steel industry near a showdown over a three man mediation board. Donald Richberg was said to confer with steel masters in New York while Recovery Administrator Johnson signaled little difference between the union’s plan and the revised Wagner measure. Traynor Named Manager Of Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh June 19 veteran third baseman Pie Traynor was named to replace George Gibson as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates. President William Benswanger announced Traynor would take over the club today and said Gibson left the team on friendly terms. Pay details were not disclosed.

Negro to Stand Trial On Operating Charge

Robert Bryson Indianapolis negro arraigned in City Court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He pleaded not guilty and Mayor Perkins set his trial for Friday morning. Bryson posted 260 dollars bail and was released. Claude Bendler white of Hendricks county pled guilty to intoxication and was fined one dollar and costs. They were arrested by Sheriff Wilbur Small after Bryson’s car allegedly struck a line of posts on the hill known as Royalton on U S Highway 62.
