Joe Alexander, 43, was arrested at Shannondall by Montgomery county authorities on a warrant charging him with taking business documents from Greene Garage in Dover. Investigators say the suspect, who worked at the penal, fled with the records after a dispute. Sheriff Saunders and Officer McCormick escorted him to jail.

Pair nabbed with stolen clothing valued at 450

Local man views historic pageant in Sesquicentennial salute

Woman Struck by Freight Train Near West Main Crossing
Mrs Ora Adams 621 South East street suffered severe injuries when an east bound freight No 61 hit her at the West Main street crossing of the Big Four railroad at 9 25 p m last night. Her companion Mrs Dora Warren was uninjured. They were en route to Memorial Park to fetch Adams daughter Maris from a Walnut Street Baptist church picnic. They wandered west on Main street and Adams hesitated before crossing, was struck and hurled from the tracks. She was taken to Witham hospital. (Continued on page seven).
