Lebanon officials anticipate the largest July 4 parade yet with entries from clubs sororities and businesses. The Indiana State Float from the Indianapolis 500 will join the procession along a route ending at the high school. Minister in Indianapolis Shot. Rector Critical After Robbery
The Rev. Harris C. Mooney, 37, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, Indianapolis, is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital after surgery for a gunshot wound suffered during a Thursday night robbery in a restaurant parking lot on East 38th Street. Police described two assailants in their early 20s. Mooney’s billfold was taken and a spent .25 caliber shell was found near his car. Mooney has led the racially mixed church since April 1970 and previously served churches in LaCrosse, Chicago, Quincy, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, and North Carolina.

Death-Free Five Counties Record Shattered In Indiana Crash
Five Counties Death-Free From Accidents By United Press International Dearborn County's perfect record of no traffic fatalities in 1971 was shattered early today in a two-car collision that raised Indiana's toll to 690 compared with 606 a year ago. Sylvester J. Bloemke, 69, Oldenburg, was killed at two minutes past Thursday midnight when his car, in the wrong lane on U.S. 50 in Aurora, collided with a car driven by John W. Olds, 21, Aurora. Dearborn became the 87th county to record at least one traffic death since Jan. 1, leaving only Posey, Fayette, Martin, Pike and Brown with none so far. Last year, Dearborn recorded 14 for the year. Helen L. Leaser, 55, Fortville, was killed Thursday evening in a two-car collision east of Fortville on U.S. 36 in Hancock County. Investigators said a car driven by James M. Boyd, 17, Fortville, pulled into the path of her car.

Two Car Crash Damages 2000 In Boone County
A Thursday 5:30 p.m. two car crash near the old Washington Township School caused $2000 in damages with no injuries. Vehicles driven by Russell Carney and Linda Shaffer, both of Thorntown Route 2, collided on Road 750 North. Sheriff reports $600 damage to Carney s 1964 Chevrolet and $1400 to Shaffer s Plymouth. no citations issued. Lebanon police also investigated an early morning break in at the Little League Ball Park concession stand with loss undetermined. Edward Byard, 31, of 405 West Chicago Street, was arrested on a warrant from T A Robinson s Justice of Peace Court on assault and battery charges.
