Boone County Kids Taken From Parents In Welfare Custody
Seven Cain children ages two to nine are placed in the care of Boone County Department of Public Welfare after authorities found severe neglect in a west Mechanicsburg home. A warrant charged Norman and Sally Cain with child neglect. The court ordered custody shifted to the welfare department for foster home placement, citing long neglect and filthy conditions including garbage, broken windows, and lack of inside facilities.

Fire claims life of 87 year old man in Indianapolis home
Indianapolis fire killed 87 year old Robert Bean in a near downtown residence. The blaze' cause was not determined. Neighbor John Parker aged 44 suffered severe burns and was hospitalized.
