Driver Dozes As Car Hits Pickup In Boone County
A 1962 Chevrolet convertible, en route from a Lafayette dealer, struck a southbound pickup after the driver fell asleep near the Sugar Creek bridge on US 52 north of Lebanon. Norman Lowder, 19, Lafayette, sustained a lip cut. he was treated at Witham Hospital and released. Lowder was cited for reckless driving. Leo Jones, 23, Thorntown, drove the pickup. Damages were about 2000 on the car and 50 on the pickup. Deputy Sheriff John Denney assisted.

Damage Suit Being Heard In Boone Court
A jury of three women and nine men began testimony in a damage suit filed by Mrs. Hattie Page of Indianapolis against the Red Cab Company seeking 25000. The trial before Judge Charles F. Thompson covers February 18 1958 when a rear impact caused injuries. Page alleges ruptured spleen knee and vertebra injuries plus medical costs. Daughter Patricia Hook testified she treated the plaintiff after February 28 1958. Local counsel are James Goodwin for the plaintiff and Ben Scifres for the Red Cab Co. Testimony may continue through tomorrow with a late Wednesday or early Thursday jury verdict possible. In Columbia City Indiana Bill Cramer 16 drowned after slipping into a 10 to 15 foot deep gravel pit just south of town while wading with two other youths.
