An official announcement states that Dare Devil Wanamaker will perform two free exhibitions this evening in front of the Exposition auditorium. At 7 o'clock he will present a comedy dive and at 7 30 he will descend a 75 foot ladder in a death defying stunt.
Weeks of planning by the Chamber of Commerce and exhibitors culminated in a 2:30 PM opening at the Lebanon canvas auditorium. The event features thrice daily sessions, vaudeville acts, and a free cooking school, with top attendance and ideal weather boosting prospects for a record Boone county turnout.
Pete Stephenoff and Louis Linn of Indianapolis were fined 40 dollars each by Mayor John C. Perkins in City Court. Charles Grizzle, east of Whitestown, is jailed awaiting a hearing on intoxication after being arrested in the same case. An officer said the trio, reportedly drunk, took Grizzle home, and Stephenoff and Linn later enticed a 14 year old girl to enter their car before being arrested. Grizzle was captured afterward.
Castle and partner Goff faced a Boone Circuit Court jury after officers raided a Mechanicsburg area beer and gambling site. Castle was found guilty of possession of intoxicating liquor and sentenced to ninety days on the state penal farm plus a $200 fine and costs totaling $236.45. Sheriff Sandlin planned to take Castle to the farm next day. Prosecutor John A. Sunderland led the case.
Thursday will feature a gala day at Ulen Country Club with a women's golf tournament in the morning and a golf tournament with chicken dinner in the afternoon. Women play nine holes for the Challenge Pin, the low net medalist wears the pin until defeated in match play, plus a four-hole low medalist prize. In the afternoon the Indianapolis Printers' Association arrives for a handicap tournament and dinner. fifty reservations have already been made.
Approximately fifty parents gathered after a weekly meeting to honor Boy Scout Troop 201 and their leader Albert Wiley with a surprise party. Mothers provided homemade cakes and ice cream for refreshments following the Scouts' win in the Scout Wahi-Ga-Zhu event.

Chicago June 18 A solution to the gangland murder of Alfred J Lingle Chicago Tribune reporter appeared near as the grand jury readiness to indict was reported after talks between State's Attorney John Swanson and Chief Justice Dennis Normoyle Indictments were expected from the investigation panel within two days Swanson said evidence would be presented and the Tribune editorialized on the case noting the slain reporter violated gangland code and that the inquiry would continue to its end
The Lebanon Girl Scouts sold 1 000 dozen cookies baked by a local bakery during Girl Scout Cookie Day. Proceeds from the sale and concession stand at the Exposition will fund local girls’ camp costs at Dellwood near Indianapolis in late July and early August. Mrs Louis Sterling and Mrs Ollie Berry lead Troops One and Two at the concession, assisted by the Scouts.
Miss Marjorie Stark underwent an operation for appendicitis at Williams hospital this morning.
Major Claude R. Crooks announces shifts in Battery C Lebanon National Guard with John Edwards promoted to captain and placed in command. Bayard Shumate remains as first lieutenant and Baren Smith as assistant executive officer, leaving one vacancy. Training to Camp Knox, Ky. runs August 2 to 17 with six cars needed for transport.

Ambassador Dwight W. Morrow won the Republican senatorial nomination in New Jersey by a landslide on June 1 and 18, topping Franklin W. Fort, Joseph S. Frelinghuysen, and John A. Kelly. With 804 districts reported, Morrow led 272,670 to 70,839 for Fort, and 35,531 for Frelinghuysen.
