Endurance riders pass through on long trip
Otis C Foster of Birmingham Als and Josepl Demnateo with James R. Kenley of Nashville arrived here en route to Kansas City from Nashville. The three bicycle riders left Nashville a week ago and covered 223 miles to Lebanon in that time. They aim to finish before July 4 and Foster plans to race in Indianapolis on Independence Day. They ride Tribuns and Combimbit wheels from Pope Company of Hartford, promoting the trip to test the machines. The route goes via Chicago St Louis and Springfield Missouri, returning through southern Illinois and Indiana. They carried a letter from Nashville’s mayor to Kansas City. They stayed overnight in Lebanon and resumed their journey this morning.

Boy Drowns At Frankfort Gravel Pit While Picking Strawberries
Horace E. Smith and Ray Stevens visited Harghman gravel pit west of Frankfort to pick wild strawberries. Smith swam beyond his depth during a storm and drowned in twelve feet of water. Stevens fled home but did not report the accident. A search party recovered the body after clothes were found on the pit’s banks.

Postmaster Heath former County Chairman A W J Newcomer Vice County Chairman David Rudd and J Jenkins along with James Po Staley went to the Windy City. Dr G A Scheilty and Lon Varntz left for the scene. A Newcomer telegram said tickets are scarce with about 1 000 applicants per ticket, but some Lebanonites may still travel to Chicago hoping to obtain passes on the spot.

Prof. Marshall accepts the Whitestown superintendency after seven years directing North Madison schools. He helped their four year high school grow and a new $17 000 high school structure rise while increasing attendance. Electric association delegates convene at Cedar Point
O P Spillman returned from a three day session of the Central Electric association in Cedar Point Ohio with 300 delegates in attendance. Storm damage hits farms east of town after Sunday storm
A Sunday forenoon storm caused extensive damage in the district southeast and east of town. Near Perrine stop S Hi dgefield lost fruit trees, two trees fell on his house, and Ora O Brock and Frei Walker farms reported blown trees and roof slates. A Brock woods tree was lifted twenty feet, wind mill wheels broke, and several telephone poles were blown down near the county farm.

Hoy as Summerdale resident eyes Republican convention
John H. Hoy formerly Lebanon mayor, now Summerdale Alabama, writes from Chicago to the Reporter city editor. He recalls arriving from Cincinnati with Teddy Roosevelt, meeting William Jennings Bryan, and says he supports Underwood of Alabama if nominated. if Bryan is the nominee he would vote for Bryan with a clean conscience, even though Bryan did not recognize him.

Harold Whetstone Johnston a 55 year old head of the Indiana Unity department and leader in several associations died suddenly on a Monon train between Loteville and Stineville returning from Indianapolis. The shock led to a faculty and trustees meeting called amid commencement social events and preparations.
