Burglary in Shannondale Leaves Car and Tools Behind
Three men burglarized the Jake Cain garage in Shannondale around 10:00 p m on Sunday. Mrs Cain saw flashlight beams and alerted her husband who fired into the air as the trio fled northward. They left an Auburn Six coupe with dynamite fuses crow bars and other burglary gear inside. A title listed to John F Lawson Indianapolis appeared on the car. State police assisted in the search and a Ford touring car was later reported stolen from William Stitch’s farm.

Carnival at Moose Lodge Opens Week of Amusements

Boy Hurt In Fall From Box Car Near Carnival Grounds
John Red a eleven year old son of J C Red of South Meridian Street suffered a deep triangular lacertion just below the left knee when he fell from a box car near the carnival grounds where Litts Amusement Company was unloading its equipment. He was taken to Witham hospital where Dr Spieth treated the injury. The boy was doing nicely despite the still painful wound.

Wreck Victims Little Improved After Accident
Mrs. Joseph Dekreen and daughter Treea of Ottawa Illinois show slight improvement after a serious auto crash north of Hazel College. Mrs Dekreen suffers severe facial wounds and a broken jaw with a near severed windpipe while Treea has a brain concussion and deep cuts. The party's father and two sons were in the vehicle en route to Cincinnati for a wedding when the car skidded struck a pole and a guy wire cut Mrs Dekreen from ear to ear.

Blackman Buick Damaged in Sunday Wabash Collision
A Buick touring car owned by Miss Cyrene Blackman and driven by her sister Ruth Blackman was damaged Sunday when a Ford collided at a road intersection near Wabash Indiana. Mrs E M Blackman and daughter Ruth were returning from Winona Lake with Cyrene after she started summer school. The Ford driver did not hear or see the Buick in time to avoid the crash.
