In Glasgow Kentucky on June 17 three or four horsemen whipped a recently arrived Black man Caleb Gaines about 18 who allegedly assaulted a white four year old girl. They chased him to the county jail where he was bound with a rope and questioned whether he would remain jailed until the law acts.
Eureka College in Eureka, Dis., observed its tenth anniversary with a jubilee meeting. Officials announced the institute had raised the 0600 needed to free it from debt and that over $100,000 had been added to its endowment. The events reflect broad support for the Disciples of Christ affiliated college.
