City and School Meet On Tap During Week
Two government meetings are set this week in Lebanon. Tonight at 7 30 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers the first reading of the city salary ordinance will be held with an 8 percent pay raise for firemen and police and 5 percent for other city workers in 1970. Tuesday at 7 30 p.m the Lebanon School Board regular monthly meeting will discuss salary negotiations ending with a 7 1/2 percent raise in 1970 and a proposed Perry Worth School Building Program.

Bank Loot Reaches About 2100 In Indianapolis Theft
A masked gunman robbed a west side Merchants National Bank branch in Indianapolis, escaping on foot with about $2100. Manager James Conn said the bandit stood 5-8 to 6 feet tall, wore a stocking mask, brown pants, a white orange striped shirt and a brown felt hat, and ordered four customers to lie on the floor. Surveillance cameras captured film of the holdup.

Nixon urges $5 billion airport program to ease aviation crisis

Thai Troops Repel Major Viet Cong Assault Near Saigon
In the largest battle of the war for Thai forces, about 1,000 Viet Cong attacked a camp east of Saigon. Thai and allied units repelled the assault with helicopter gunships and artillery, with 212 guerrillas killed and Thai losses at six dead and six wounded. North Vietnamese attacks also hit Nui Ba Den and multiple towns as U.S. troops reported 119 guerrilla deaths.

In Paoli Indiana fire destroyed the Strand Theater and an adjoining jewelry store early Sunday. Six fire companies helped Paoli to contain a blaze concentrated in a one block downtown area. Theater damage estimated at 200000 dollars. losses to the jewelry store and other businesses not yet known. Cause and location of origin inside the theater undetermined.
