Boone County gets 167,459.94 from a 26 million school sales tax aimed at relieving property taxes. Distributions to Eagle Township, Western District, Union Township, MSD of Lebanon, and Marion Adams Unit total 167,459.94 based on average daily attendance. statewide support is 24.84 per resident. A separate gas tax distribution of 11.4 million will be sent to cities and counties, with about 55 percent to cities and 45 percent to counties. Lebanon and Boone County breakdowns were not provided.

Sanguan Chantalay of Thailand, an International Farm Youth Exchange student, visits near Zionsville with Mr and Mrs Wayne Smith for three weeks. A 23 year old, he arrived May 10 and has stayed with two Hoosier farm families prior to the Smiths. He has been active in 4-H and comes from a four acre farm. Since 1951 the IFYE program has placed foreigners with over 500 Indiana families. The program aims to foster mutual understanding among nations.
