Indianapolis police report Cecil Harries of Indianapolis was arrested in Rochester New York in connection with the death of Mrs Udell Lucille Mullinix Stewart of Greenwood found dying in an alley beside an Indianapolis hotel after a May 25 incident. Police say she may have fallen or been pushed from a third story room where a drinking party occurred and Harries, who was registered at the hotel, vanished soon after.
Frankfort on the Main June 16 extensive German military maneuvers will begin shortly along the Reich’s Siegfried line facing France’s Maginot line. The war games aim to train troops in defensive efficiency.
A Boone Circuit Court jury returned a verdict for the defense in the matter Spencer Richardson vs Anta Spencer et al. The jury ruled the will of James W. Spencer is valid and should not be set aside. Special Judge Curry presided. defense counsel included Hutchinson Rogers and Smith. plaintiff counsel Righardson Shotwell Hornaday. Mrs Spencer, James W. Spencer’s second wife, is executor. Spencer died in October leaving an estate valued unspecified.
