Triple fatal pond tragedy near Stendal claims three lives
Three drownings occurred Wednesday at a strip mine pond three miles northeast of Stendal in Pike County. Walnut Street Baptist Church Dedication Set Sunday in City
Walnut Street Baptist Church in Lebanon plans the formal dedication of its new auditorium on Sunday June 18 at 2 30 PM. Rev Herbert Fitzpatrick of Riverdale Maryland will preach and Evangelaires Quartet from Connersville Indiana will sing. The church began as a 1905 mission of First Baptist and has grown with a new two story educational wing. The 500 seat air conditioned facility opened May 26 this year after a mortgage bond issue of 100000 dollars started the project in June 1966. A dedication revival follows with Pastor Donald Humber and local groups performing. Public invitation extended.
