Entombed Miner and Son Rescued After Two Days
Ashland Pa June 15 A middle aged miner and his 17 year old son were rescued from an abandoned shaft near Ashland after two days entombed by a rock fall. They survived on a pipe tunnel and food brought through braced debris as rescue crews worked through a narrow passage to bring them out. The father identified the deeper shaft and both were taken to Sandwiches and Hospital for examination and care.

Funeral services for Charles F Page who died Tuesday at his home 801 West Chicago Street will be held Thursday at 3 pm at Bratton Brothers funeral home with Rev C A Metz of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial is in Oak Hill cemetery. The body was taken to the residence this morning for viewing and will be returned to the funeral home shortly before the services.

Sleepwalking youth injured in Carmel accident
Carmel Indiana June 15 David Cooper, a sleepwalker, fell 15 feet from a second story window while asleep. He suffered possible multiple broken vertebrae and a broken neck. He had occasional sleepwalking before, but no prior accident of this kind.

David Marion Walters a 13 year old Lebanon junior high pupil drowned in Sugar Creek near Mechanicsburg Burg Bridge after curdling a 17 hour search by dozens of men state police troopers and divers. The boy swam with friends Tuesday afternoon when he cried for help and disappeared. Divers searched all night and recovered his body about 7 16 this morning 20 feet from the disappearance point.
