Governor McNutt backed Townsend forecasting he would win with about 630 votes before Marion county. McNutt named support from Mishawaka and South Bend for Greenlee while McKinney backers claimed Townsend tactics. The state convention opens tomorrow with 1845 delegates, 923 needed to nominate, at the Coliseum.
