Lightning Kills Two Boys at Thorntown Farm
On a Sunday afternoon in Thorntown Indiana two Sugar Creek township youths Thomas Hurt 18 and Robert Yonkey 16 were killed when lightning struck as they ran to a car after leaving a creek. Three others Rex Hurt 13 Lewis Youkey 12 and Keith Leonard 18 were injured but expected to recover. Thomas Hurt helped run Hurt Gardens with his mother Edith Hurt and had planned to enter Thorntown High School. Funeral arrangements were set for Wednesday with services at the Hart home and Maple Lawn cemetery burial. Robert Youkey the eldest son of Ray Youkey attended the Indiana School for the Deaf and was honored for three years as top student. his funeral was scheduled for Wednesday at his Yankey home.

Chicago, June 15. The government presses its drive to jail Capone and sixty-seven gangsters as Jack Leinen, a Capone lieutenant, surrenders on liquor conspiracy charges. Washington June 15 The Lookheen Sirius monoplane used by Charles and Anne Lindbergh for the Pacific flight shows greater power and speed but a smaller cruising radius than the Spirit of St. Louis. The Sirius, built by Lockheed, logged 170 to 180 mph in flight with a 425 horsepower Wasp engine, and carries 440 gallons for a projected 330 mile cruising radius with both occupants and baggage.

350 Chickens Burn in Brooder House Fire
