Motorcycle Crash Injures Boy In Crawfordsville Area

A motorcycle rider named Hoskins suffered a leg injury when his bike was struck by a car driven by Clayton Hodshire. The collision occurred about 1 p.m. three miles west of Advance as Hodshire, Route 1 Jamestown, made a U turn in front of the auto. Hoskins was thrown onto the car and into the road, and was taken to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville for treatment. Sheriff Rush Robinson investigated the crash.

Robert E. Miller Graduates and Takes Teaching Post

Buffalo showdown reports the Mid State Four from Chicago winning the medalist contest of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. Day Camp To Open Monday At Memorial Park

The Community Service day camp will run Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. all summer at Memorial Park for boys and girls aged three to ten. Enrollment is continuous, with two week periods and no reenrollment required for return visits. Transportation provided and lunch milk supplied. activities include nature lore crafts music rhythm, stories, dramatics, and games.

Production Credit Group Officers Attend Ohio State Seminar

Kidit officers and directors of the Greencastle Production Credit Association will attend an agricultural seminar at Ohio State University in Columbus on June 15 16 and 17. Russell Bean Lebanon field representative reports the event is a short course on financing agriculture held annually alternately at Ohio State and Purdue for farmer production associations in Ohio and Indiana. Bean will represent the Greencastle association at the seminar.

Alvin Delaney Dies In Hospital

Alvin Delaney 41 died during an appendectomy at Founta hospital and lay in Myers Mortuary. He lived with his wife Pauline Padgett and five children Oris Melvin Evelyn Leona James at home. Survived by father James, stepmother Hazel Delaney, brother David of Thorntown, sisters Helen Martin Sylvia Newman Ruth Newman Waugh, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral plans incomplete.

Hollywood Writers Lose Contempt Conviction on Communism Question

The U S Court of Appeals unanimously upheld the contempt conviction of John Howard Lawson and Dalton Trumbo for refusing to reveal if they were or had been members of the Communist party to the House Un American Activities Committee in 1947. They were sentenced to one year in jail and fined $1100. Schricker Seeks To End Strike In Indiana
