Checks totaling about 75000 are being distributed today by Robert Harmon and staff to depositors of the First Rural Loan and Savings Association and Rural Credit Loan and Savings Association. About 2100 checks were ready as doors opened at the liquidating agent office at 106 North Lebanon Street. First Rural pays roughly 56000 a 10 percent dividend while Rural Credit disburses about 19000 a 20 percent dividend. The liquidations began March 4 2036 and these payments raise totals returned to depositors to 40 percent for First Rural and 80 percent for Rural Credit. This is the third dividend paid by each institution. Payments cover general claims as filed by the department.
