Vincennes Ind June 13 ready today for the second great day in its history the dedication Sunday of the 2 300 000 George Rogers Clark Memorial by President Franklin Roosevelt. The first great day came Feb 25 1779 when General Hamilton led Kentucky and French Creole forces to Sackville. The crowd of about 35 000 autos and 100 000 people will greet Roosevelt with McNutt Kimmel in the lead car.

Assault Victim Seeks Damages in Thorntown Case
William Schimmel of Clinton County filed in Boone Circuit Court a $5,000 damages suit against John Albert Martin of Thorntown for injuries from a May 18 beating. Schimmel alleges a head strike, a fall, and jaw fracture plus other injuries. Attorneys Pryor, Davidson, and Wright represent him. Martin faces May 10 assault and battery charges with intent to murder, free on $1,000 bail. Also reported, Omer Jackson urged a state committee inquiry into a Bloomington-signed letter attacking Lt. Gov. Townsend’s gubernatorial candidacy, signed “Yours for Caution—A Divided Committee.” The letter claims opposition has facts that would deter Townsend’s nomination. Indianapolis June 13 A horse thief ring operating between Chicago and Indiana was busted with the arrest of Paul Rizek near Walkerton Indiana Captain Matt Leach said Rizek was turned over to Chicago authorities after arrest by State Policeman E J Buchanan Chicago police supplied the information. The gang allegedly rented saddle horses from Chicago riders, moved them to Indiana in moving vans and sold them to Heonier farmers.

Marion county deputy coroner Jobe Wyttenbach opened an inquiry into the mysterious death of Donn Siddall, 24, a former Wabash College athlete and Madison, Indiana native found dead in his bed after leaving a drug store and declining sedative overdose theories.
