Bank Robbery Near Purdue Strikes Two Thousand Dollars
A gang of six gunmen robbed the Purdue State Bank two blocks from campus, escaping with about $2,000. They abducted teller Dorothy Arnold and C. A. Young to use as shields, drove off in a blue Buick, and were last seen north on Grand Street. Knoxed suspects hailed from Chicago, witnesses said. The incident marked Indiana’s 23rd bank robbery of 1933.
