Miss Betsy Wardwell, who had been missing since June 2, was located in South Bend, Indiana, en route back to Watertown, New York with her father. She described a roaming journey with her friend George Reed, sleeping in a barn and on church steps after running away through Ohio.

President Hoover and wife to attend an all Hoosier breakfast at the Indiana governor’s mansion in Indianapolis Tuesday morning after a speech to the Indiana Editorial Association. Menu features Indiana grown strawberries cereal cream wheat cakes Hoosier syrup pork eggs and sugar from local producers. Only the President, Mrs Hoover, the Governor and Mrs Leslie and their sons Richard and Robert will be present.
At a Rotary Club luncheon Boone County Historical Association president E C Gullion outlined plans for Lebanon's centennial. A three day pageant will highlight local history rather than a street carnival. Late August is targeted with support from service clubs and the Chamber of Commerce. Rotarians O B Kilmer and Gullion attended. Mrs Ritchie, recently discharged after surgery, returned home.
A Bethany get together for Western District youth in fourteen Indiana counties opened at Central Christian church. Delegates from Warren Tippecanoe Fountain Montgomery Parke Putnam Hendricks Morgan Vermillion Vigo Clay Owen Clinton and Boone gathered for a two day rally to promote Bethany Camp for Disciples of Christ youths ages fourteen to twenty. Activities included registration at nine, a get acquainted session led by Worth Barnett and a talk by Curtis Plopper of Indianapolis on Why We Are Here followed by devotional led by Mary Kathryn Waldron and group conferences with Rev E R Moon of Butler University on Adventures With Christ In Conduct.
Amana Iowa houses a seven unit German immigrant colony of about 1200 people living under a community run economy. Each person receives sustenance from the colony. 2500 acres are farmed and tires and wooden goods are made. The Great Council and trustees oversee matters including education with a rule that graduates must return. In a decade the population fell by over 300 as youth drifted away amid anti communist surroundings.
North west Indiana Methodist Episcopal Conference marked its eightieth annual session in Greencastle with a luncheon for veteran ministers. Bishop Herbert Welch presided and spoke to the class entering the conference. Ministers and wives planned a prison visit to Putnamville and DePauw University students prepared a lay address.

R D Chambers of Emmett Brown Legion Post announced the South Side Park Junior Legion team will meet the Frankfort Junior club at Frankfort tomorrow afternoon. A rainout last Sunday postponed the game. Expected Lebanon batting order includes Fred Board at second, A Mount at first, Gullion on the mound, and Breedlove in left field.
The Lebanon police department received a Treasury Department notice about a counterfeit $5 bill circulation. The note bears a circle 10, check letter E, Lincoln portrait, Kansas City bank, and is printed on poor paper. Two men aged 30 and 85 and a 23 year old woman were described passing the bills. They were in an old Ford touring car with Ohio plates ending 699 and may switch to Indiana plates.
Marion Williams, who underwent an emergency operation twelve days ago at Witham hospital, returned home today.
Mrs Claude Williams remains in critical condition at Witham hospital after suffering a paralysis stroke Monday evening.
A youth tentatively identified as Albert Simons, believed to be a jockey, was found unconscious in a roadside ditch eleven miles northwest of Lebanon on U S Road 52. He was rushed to Witham hospital where an operation was considered. He is about 20 to 26, with a deep scalp wound near the left ear, and injuries suggesting a blunt instrument. He spoke of riding at Belmont and being shot at, and laundry marks and shoe inscriptions aided identification. A Chrysler 80 was mentioned, and a Belmont card was found. He was found around 9 a.m. by Percy Crane of Chicago, who brought him to a farm before authorities learned he was alive. He had no money or valuables on him. The coroner was notified and he was transported to Indianapolis for further care. The case is treated as violence, not an auto accident. Some speculation connects him to Los Angeles. A separate social note mentions Dr. and Mrs. Williams and Rev. and Mrs. Dale visiting local residents.
