City’s oldest resident dead in Lebanon after long life
William Trips, Lebanon’s oldest resident and pioneer, died this morning at his South Street home after a two week illness from kidney trouble and hardened arteries. Born in Ausberg Germany on March 1 182? he was 92 years 2 months and 1 day old. He came to America in 1854 with his wife He lived in Indianapolis before Lebanon. Survived by one daughter Mrs Margaret Bleistein and two sons Peter Trips and Mrs Katherine Wilson. Funeral Sunday at 2 pm from the First Presbyterian Church with Rev O H Carmichael officiating.

T Humes a New York World reporter aged fifty four died in a wreck near Stamford. Six people killed and about twenty injured when a Pullman car telescoped by a following electric engine on the York New Haven and Hartford line. Humes was returning to his mother at Pine Orchard Conn when the crash occurred. He suffered crushed pelvis and compound fractures.
