Mechanicburg teen suffers leg injury on farm
Cleon Jett seventeen son of Mr and Mrs Normal Jett resident two miles northwest of Mechanicsburg met with an accident on his grandfather Samuel Lyons farm. While pinning a heavy wagon the tongue swung and struck his right leg breaking both bones between the knee and ankle. Treated by Dr Endicott at Mechanicsburg the injuries are not serious and he is expected to be on crutches in a few weeks.

Fire injures residents as Frankfort blaze destroys restaurant
Ten People sleeping in rooms adjoining a north side Frankfort restaurant narrowly escaped death when a fire destroyed their quarters early today. John Scherer, eleven, sustained severe bruises and a broken jaw from a fall. Edmund Scherer, thirteen, was burned on the legs after jumping onto an awning and through a glass. John Myers suffered cuts from shattered glass while escaping the second floor. Mrs. Ella Lederer of Indianapolis, owner, was awakened and, with four children, took refuge on a veranda until ropes lowered them to safety. ALS Mahoney of Sullivan rescued two children from the burning stairway, suffering minor burns. The restaurant, lodging house, and related property suffered about 1,560 in losses. the Clover Leaf station, Red Cross Drug store, and other stock also sustained damage.

Death of John Mintire and family details
Paralysis was cited as the cause of death for John Mintire, who expired yesterday in a hospital at Anderson and will be buried locally. The report lists George T. John Melntire Anderson died yesterday in a Catholic hospital after months of illness. The body will be brought to the city this evening and taken to the home of Joseph on West Noble street for a 2 p.m. Friday funeral at Oak Hill cemetery. He is survived by a daughter Dele Yerby of Indianapolis and a son Elman of Anderson, plus three brothers Ed of Oklahoma Charlie of Seattle Samuel of Munroe and three sisters Alf Purdue and Sire Boamell of Indianapolis and Mrs Joe Gallion of this city.
