Seventeen year old girl shoots self after late hours reprimand
Miss Hila Howard a seventeen year old resident west of Thorntown near Sugar Plains Church, shot herself in the left shoulder with a .82 caliber revolver Tuesday night after a quarrel over returning home after spending time with young men. She was treated at Witham hospital and said she did not intend to die, only to frighten her sister Mrs. Susong. The Susong family, recently moved from Tennessee, reside on Mr. Barker's farm west of Thorntown.
