Mother And Daughter Hurt In I-65 Boone Crash
A Mooresville mother Nancy Snell and her 14 month old daughter Kathleen were treated for head and facial lacerations after Snell’s VW struck a Zionsville deputy’s car and rolled onto the highway median near I-65 south of Boone. Snell was cited for reckless driving. Another incident nearby involved a pony strike on SR 32 and a separate door-ripping semi-truck suction on I-65 injuring no one but prompting a license citation.

About 3 000 members of Indiana s 38th National Guard Infantry Division will start two weeks of field training in Puerto Rico and Michigan this week end. The 1 500 men of the Third Brigade will be airlifted to Puerto Rico for the second year in a row. The First Brigade will travel to Camp Grayling Michigan and train with about 1 500 Puerto Rican guardsmen next week. The Third Brigade headquartered in Evansville will be airlifted to Puerto Rico. It includes units stationed at Evansville Vincennes Princeton Mount Vernon New Albany Tell City Salem Fort Wayne Attica Delphi Monticello and Rensselaer. The main body will train at Camp Grayling between July 31 and Aug 15.

United Press International reports Indiana toll rises to at least 581 with three deaths on Thursday. Roy Sheaf, 15, was struck on U.S. 31 near Indianapolis and died instantly after riding into a car. David Martin, 3, died after darting between parked cars into a moving vehicle. Martin A White, 6, died from injuries after a two car collision in Indianapolis while being driven home from church by Rev Booker Alman and another man.
