A severe wind storm caused a large tree limb to pierce Harold Rush’s windshield as he drove on North Lebanon street near East Fardice. Rush, about a mile north of Lebanon on State Road 30, pulled over safely. A bystander, Maine Fairfield of Thorntown, suffered burns from a downed wire but did not seek medical help.
Severe storms across Indiana from a fast moving cold front caused at least three deaths and widespread property damage. A lightning strike killed Delbert Zambaugh as he sheltered at a farm building.
