Longtime Boone county educator Peters 69 died at his home near Fairview Church after a year of ill health. Born May 12 187? he taught at multiple Boone County schools for 32 years before retiring in 1941. Boone County prosecutor Burton Burtisi says two Thorntown youths face a juvenile court hearing after authorities allege they burglarized a carnival stand and stole an electric razor and cash. A carnival worker kept the razor, and a $750 check paid for it. another boy bought items in nearby Darling ton with a dated check. Continued on Page 4.

Several local ministers remain in place including Rev P J Hamingson Centenary Lebanon Rev Charles Hill Advance Mt Zion Rev Robert Furless Jamestown and Rev J Coons Lebanon Lane's Chapel. Thompson, 24, comes from Warwick Indiana where he led Hillsgrave Methodist Church for a year. He was born and raised in the region.

A stolen safe from the Monon railroad burglary near Indianapolis was found Sunday by Charles Hill of Indianapolis in a new real estate subdivision two miles south and a mile east of Whitestown. The safe contained a $210 paycheck and about $7 in change. Sheriff Wilbur Slagle and State Police Detective Berman Freed reported the recovery after a picnic with Hill’s family.

President Eisenhower progressed in recovery with a 15 minute walking session at 940 pm and 30 feet of ambulation during the day. Doctors reported his condition remains essentially normal with vital signs stable. He met for 10 minutes with Sherman Adams and designated Vice President Nixon to represent him at upcoming events while officials set up temporary headquarters near his hospital room.
Four people died when their light plane struck a 132000-volt power line near Kokomo Indiana and exploded in flames. Pilot Paul F Eikenberry 35 of near Westfield was likely blinded by sun. victims include his wife and child and two Kokomo residents. A farmer witness said the craft hung on the wires briefly before dropping. The crash did not interrupt electric service.
